For most companies, the annual report is the flagship publication. But while great care is taken over design and production, the text is often written piecemeal, late in the day, by busy executives with other calls on their time. That's where I can help. Typically I work with a small steering group at head office to agree the main themes and messages. I'll then pull together the information, interviewing the relevant people and making sure that everyone's input supports the central messages. Next I write the text, giving it a consistent style and adding the pace and interest that will keep the shareholder reading. Later I can integrate comments. In most cases I also interview the Chairman and CEO and write their statements. Throughout the project, I'll work closely with your designers so that words and graphics fit well together. Whatever level of service you want Some clients prefer
to write the text themselves and hand it to me for styling. Others ask
me to write the first draft for refining in-house. I'll contribute in
whatever way suits best.
